Protection of Reuters Copyright Rights: Reuters and PicRights Partnership

Reuters photojournalists report from over 200 locations around the world, delivering over 1600 news pictures a day. Behind each image, a team of editors works tirelessly to capture the essence, authenticity and significance of current news, sports, entertainment and world events.

Because intellectual property is the lifeblood of our business, we have a special obligation to protect our rights in the images we create. To aid this effort, we have partnered with PicRights and others, such as Higbee & Associates, Finnerty Osterreicher & Abdulla and Image Law, to identify and address unauthorized use of Reuters images.
