Reuters, the world’s leading provider of trusted news, insight and analysis, today announced the launch of a new scholarship at historically Black college Hampton University, in partnership with the White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA). The Reuters/WHCA ‘Trust in Reporting’ scholarship is designed to increase diversity among journalists reporting on politics and will be awarded to a Hampton University journalism student, preferably with an interest in government or political reporting.
The recipient of the ‘Trust in Reporting’ scholarship will receive $7,000 towards tuition at Hampton University, as well as opportunities to participate in learning events with Reuters journalists from around the world. Reuters also funds a Reuters/WHCA ‘Trust in Reporting’ scholarship at Arizona State University, as well as a scholarship in partnership with the National Association of Black Journalists at Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications.
