Reuters new U.S. elections newsletter, On the Campaign Trail, is now available to readers every Thursday, providing a unique global perspective to the political races in the U.S. While U.S. elections coverage is often written for an audience who is fluent in how elections in the country work, On the Campaign Trail aims to distill for global readers the inner workings of the complex American political system, as well as help subscribers to understand why and how the elections are relevant to them.
Curated by Reuters National Affairs Editor Colleen Jenkins and White House Editor Heather Timmons, each newsletter will bring subscribers the latest news and most compelling tales from the campaign trail, alongside expert insights from the Reuters election team, links to deeply reported stories on voters and issues in battleground states, and exclusive Reuters/Ipsos polling data.
Reporting from the White House and the Democratic campaign trail are correspondents Nandita Bose, Steve Holland, Trevor Hunnicutt, Jeff Mason, Jarrett Renshaw and Andrea Shalal.
Helen Coster, Nathan Layne, James Oliphant, Tim Reid, Gram Slattery and Alexandra Ulmer bring subscribers the latest news on the fight for the Republican nomination, while Jason Lange analyzes polling data and campaign finance reports. Editors Ross Colvin, Scott Malone and Kat Stafford add insight on America’s diverse political and social landscape.
In addition, a regular section called “View from…” will bring a local perspective from Reuters bureaus around the world, helping readers to understand how the presidential elections could impact relations between the U.S. and that country.
