Reuters expands global digital subscriptions rollout to Australia and New Zealand

One of the world’s largest global news organizations offers simple, transparent pricing with no surprise increases

Reuters announced today it has launched digital subscriptions in Australia and New Zealand for its award-winning website and mobile app. The subscription plan will be available to users in Australia for A$1.50 and New Zealand for NZ$1.50 a week, allowing cost-efficient, unlimited access to Reuters trusted, accurate and unbiased news coverage. The pricing plan is simple and transparent. There are no introductory offers or surprise price increases.

This announcement follows the successful launch of digital subscriptions in Europe, the U.S. and Canada. Reuters website and app users can now access a limited number of articles per month before receiving an offer to subscribe. Users get transparent subscription pricing with no up-front discount periods, step-ups or surprises, and they can easily cancel at any time.

“Reuters is on the front lines of conflicts, navigating the halls of government, and reporting from inside corporate boardrooms around the world. That is why the world’s news outlets, financial institutions, companies, governments and consumers rely on us to deliver the truth. We take that responsibility very seriously,” said Reuters President Paul Bascobert. “Trusted, unbiased, agenda-free news is essential in an era rife with misinformation. This new subscription plan ensures Reuters can expand the reach of its award-winning coverage at an affordable price, while allowing us to further invest in our reporting and products for subscribers.”

The newly relaunched Reuters app and its accompanying website provide high-quality, credible, and reliable news, provided by Reuters 2600 journalists globally. Reuters extensive newsroom footprint, operating in 200 locations around the world, ensures users receive comprehensive coverage of the most important global events, leaving no corner of the world unreported. Adhering to the Thomson Reuters Trust Principles guarantees journalism produced with the utmost integrity, delivered without bias or agenda.
