Reuters President Paul Bascobert shared the following message with Reuters colleagues today about the appointment of Mahesh Ramachandran as Head of Technology:
Colleagues,
I am delighted to announce that Mahesh Ramachandran has been appointed Head of Technology for Reuters, effective January 1, 2024. Mahesh has been Interim Head of Technology since November 1 and was previously Vice President Technology, News.
Mahesh will lead a team of more than 500 technology associates at Reuters. He will oversee technology strategy, including technology development, AI, architecture, platforms, cybersecurity, testing and operational resiliency. Prior to joining Reuters in 2007 as Head of Architecture, News Technology, Mahesh spent 10 years at the ANZ Banking group - Investment Banking and Corporate Finance divisions as Engineering Lead and Solution Architect.
2023 has been a big year for the tech team, with successes in new features, Imagen's integration, re-platforming and automations. Given Mahesh's deep knowledge and expertise, he is the right person to lead this team next year and beyond as we continue to build on our News Production, Professional, Agency and LSEG platforms.
