The Insurer today announced the launch of Parametric Insurer, a new specialized platform for the alternative risk transfer community.

Parametric insurance policies cover a predetermined set of conditions in loss-causing events, such as natural disasters. Parametric Insurer is the premier publication covering the key developments in these index-based alternative risk transfers, as well as other forms of alternative risk, with informed analysis and opinion. It will include intelligence on the latest products, transactions and payouts, provide clarity on the nuances of coverage structures and offer informed viewpoints on this fast-growing segment of the insurance market.

The new offering includes a monthly newsletter and a website with a focus on parametric coverage, bringing readers authoritative news, analysis and commentary across alternative risk transfer, including structured solutions, captives and the role of capital markets.

"As more organisations turn to alternative solutions for climate, catastrophe and emerging risks, Parametric Insurer will function as a community for market participants and provide essential education to the broader P&C sector," said Henry Gale, editor of Parametric Insurer and analysis editor at The Insurer.

The Insurer, as part of World Business Media Limited, was acquired by Reuters in January 2024. The business operates as part of Reuters Professional, the definitive destination for global intelligence that powers smart decision-making.
