By: Reuters Communications

Reuters announced today the launch of the Reuters AI Suite, a set of AI tools to assist in video production, designed to enable Reuters News Agency media and Imagen sports customers to enhance and extract more from their video content. The tools were developed in-house at Reuters to meet its exacting standards for accuracy and reliability.

The Reuters AI Suite offers a range of capabilities that optimize video workflows, improve production efficiency and enhance content value. Key features include advanced transcription and translation services all seamlessly integrated into customers' existing infrastructures through the Reuters API or the Imagen media asset management platform.

The new suite empowers customers to streamline production workflows, making the process of finding and utilizing video content faster and more efficient. For instance, instant translations can be downloaded and used as subtitles, while the transcriptions in multiple languages automatically enrich the asset's metadata so it can be searched in different languages. These are just two ways the AI Suite helps clients save time and resources while delivering high quality content to their audiences.

"Our goal is to support media and sports customers at every stage of content development, from planning and deployment to packaging and distribution to monetization and IP protection," said Alphonse Hardel, Head of Reuters News Agency. "This AI suite underscores Reuters commitment to leveraging technology to improve customers’ workflows and transform the media landscape. The Reuters AI Suite is designed to provide seamless integration and a superior user experience with tools approved and vetted according to Reuters high standards, ensuring our customers can produce high-quality content quickly and efficiently. This launch is just the start of an exciting roadmap for the AI Suite.”

Reuters will be launching its AI Suite at the NAB Show in Las Vegas and will be adding new tools, including scene detection and synthetic voice, throughout the year from trusted partners to meet a range of use cases. The suite will be regularly updated and improved as AI technology develops.

The launch of the Reuters AI Suite comes at a time when media companies are facing a multitude of challenges and need to quickly adapt to changing audience behaviors and technologies. By providing access to AI tools, Reuters is helping to level the playing field, allowing newsrooms to experience the transformative power of AI in video production without the need for significant upfront investment.

The launch of Reuters AI Suite is possible thanks to Thomson Reuters $200 million annual investment in AI, solidifying the company's position at the forefront of industry advancements.

The Reuters AI Suite is now available for trial to a limited set of customers, offering them the opportunity to experience firsthand the transformative power of AI in video production. With a focus on enhancing customer experience and empowering journalists, Reuters continues to lead the news industry in AI innovation.
