Reuters Diversity Report 2024

Date: 2 October 2024

By: Alessandra Galloni

Reuters Editor-in-Chief Alessandra Galloni and Global Editor for Newsroom Diversity Joyce Adeluwoye-Adams shared the following message with Reuters colleagues today about the publication of the 2024 Diversity at Reuters Report, covering progress and initiatives in 2023.

Colleagues,

Today we have published the fourth annual Diversity at Reuters report, covering progress and initiatives in 2023.

The report documents the work we have done to foster a more inclusive newsroom, while acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead. Last year we made good progress in diversifying our leadership, with a notable increase in the proportion of senior leaders from racially or ethnically diverse backgrounds. We continue to increase the number of women in leadership, with a three-percentage point increase to 39% from 36%.

It is important to celebrate the achievements we have made. However, there is still much work to be done. We remain committed to celebrating diversity and giving a voice to more people around the globe.

We encourage you to read the report and, as ever, to reach out with any thoughts or comments.

Thank you again for your support.
