Reuters and ITN are partnering to make 70 years of trusted broadcast archive footage available through Reuters Connect, enhanced with AI-powered search and discovery tools.

That's why Reuters and ITN are partnering to bring one of the world's most significant collections of broadcast journalism to Reuters Connect.

From January 2027, customers will be able to discover and license the ITN Archive exclusively through Reuters Connect, expanding access to over 70 years of extraordinary visual reporting from around the world.

Powered by Reuters AI-enhanced discovery technology, the ITN archive will be easier than ever to search, explore and license.

The ITN Archive is one of the world's most trusted collections of broadcast journalism, 
preserving defining moments in history captured by journalists on the ground.

From historic royal occasions and political change to defining news events of the modern era, the archive offers an authentic and trusted visual record for storytellers seeking context, credibility and impact.

By bringing the archive to Reuters Connect, customers will be able to access this rich collection alongside Reuters' own extensive archive and content from more than 100 global content partners, all through a single licensing platform.

Faster discovery through AI-tools

Reuters will use its proprietary archive technology to enrich ITN footage with detailed metadata, including transcription, shot listing and translation capabilities.

These enhancements will make it easier to search vast amounts of content, helping producers, researchers and content creators identify relevant footage more quickly and accurately.

12,000 hours of newly digitized footage

Reuters will digitise an additional 12,000 hours of ITN archive footage, making rare and historical content available for licensing.

This previously unseen footage will become part of the growing archive marketplace available to customers through Reuters Connect.
