Trusted Reuters Video Now Available On CuttingRoom AI Editor

Reuters video is now available inside ShortCut, CuttingRoom's browser-based AI editing assistant, via direct integration with the Reuters Model Context Protocol (MCP) server. Editors can find, cut, mix and caption verified Reuters footage using plain-language prompts.

The gap: AI edits fast, but what is it editing?

AI-assisted editing promises a shorter road from event to broadcast. But an assistant is only as reliable as its source material. If editors still have to find verified footage in one system, export it and import it into another, the speed gains stop at the first step.

This integration closes that gap. ShortCut does the editing, Reuters MCP supplies the footage, and both happen at the same time, within the same conversation.

How it works

Ask for content by story, topic, region, language or event, and ShortCut finds the Reuters coverage and brings it into the edit. From there it cuts, mixes audio, color corrects, captions and adds graphic treatments, then reframes the story for vertical, square and bulletin formats.

This is just the start

This integration shows what MCP is built for: bringing trusted Reuters content into the AI tools newsrooms already work in.

Next on the roadmap are semantic search across text, pictures and video, and connectors for the leading LLMs, such as Claude, ChatGPT, etc.
