2025 Text and Visuals Intern, Mexico
During my internship I reported on a range of stories, from how tariff uncertainty under the Trump administration was straining Mexico’s northern border economy, to street‑level coverage of protests, parades and cultural events. One of my stories focused on the Santa Cecilia celebrations, where I followed mariachis through the city; it became one of the most‑watched stories of the week by clients in Latin America.
I was encouraged to pitch my own story ideas and I worked closely with editors who took the time to explain why certain stories worked and why others didn’t, and which images had real journalistic value. That close guidance pushed me to be more critical of my own work and helped me better understand, not only Reuters standards, but what we, as journalists must aspire to achieve. What made the internship especially valuable was the level of responsibility and feedback I received and that’s one of the reasons why I would recommend the Reuters News Internship Program.

2024 Data Intern, U.S
I loved my experience in the Reuters News Internship Program. While working on stories, I was strengthening my skills as a data reporter in everything from sourcing to geospatial analysis. I worked with a team that was committed to finding innovative ways to use cutting-edge technology to bolster our reporting. Above all, what I valued most was the opportunity to work alongside seasoned reporters and editors who were generous with their time, knowledge and guidance. I’d strongly recommend this program to anyone who wants to learn from some of the best and brightest in journalism.
2024 News Applications Intern, U.S
The Reuters News Internship Program helped me gain confidence, clarity, and a sense of belonging in journalism. When I first entered the field, I worried there might not be space for me or that I was arriving too late. My time at Reuters proved the opposite. I gained hands-on experience at an organization that values innovation, pushes boundaries, and encourages interns to grow into their full potential.
During my internship, I learned practical and creative skills that have fundamentally shaped me as a journalist. Coming straight from my master’s program, I was initially intimidated by the talent around me, but that challenge ultimately became one of the most valuable learning experiences of the internship. My colleagues were not only exceptionally talented but also genuinely generous with their time and knowledge.
The program helped me find the kind of journalism I’m most passionate about and showed me that there is a place for me in the ever-changing landscape, and I would recommend it to anyone considering it.
